Ringfall
Ringfall is a turn-based roguelike on a shrinking arena of concentric rings. You start on the outer ring, the boss waits in the center, and every few turns the outermost ring falls away. Any enemy you leave standing on it is absorbed by the boss and makes it stronger. Fight your way inward, kill the boss, drop to the next depth, and see how far down you can get.
Every fight is one number. Move into an enemy and it dies, but you lose HP equal to its number. Kills give you XP, level you up and heal you, so the puzzle on every turn is which fights you can afford and which ones you have to leave behind.
What's in the beta (v0.1.0)
- One hero, many paths. Every run starts as the Squire. Each rank-up you choose Warrior or Mage, and the order of your picks decides your class. There are 14 classes, each with its own rules.
- An endless dungeon. Depth after depth, with seven monster families, each with its own tricks and its own boss.
- Daily Run. One board a day, the same for everyone. Play it as often as you like and try to top the day's online leaderboard.
- Board codes. Every board has a short code. Share one, and your friends play exactly the same board.
Controls
- Move: Arrow keys or WASD. Up goes inward, down goes outward, left and right move around the ring.
- Attack: move into an enemy.
- Examine: X shows your hero and the enemies on this depth.
- Pause: Esc or P.
- Restart: R replays the same board from depth 1. Shift+R starts a new board.
- After a run: L shows the board's online scores, M returns to the menu.
What's Next?
- New Characters - New characters like the Acolyte and the Apprentice have completely new class branches to choose from
- Updated Bosses - Bosses will have additional functionality: actively attacking or changing the board
- Updated UI - More HUD information and improved interface.
Ringfall is in beta. Balance is still being tuned, and updates may reset the leaderboards.
